Singer Gives Alexer Peres 14-Day Ultimatum as Spat Intensifies; She Vows Not to Back Down in Custody Dispute
Nigerian singer Harrysong has formally demanded his estranged wife, Alexer Peres, retract her claims of emotional abuse and harassment or face a staggering N1 billion lawsuit for defamation.
The demand came in a cease and desist letter, a screenshot of which Alexer shared on her Instagram story. The document, sent through Harrysong’s lawyers, gives her a 14-day ultimatum to issue a public apology. Failure to comply, it states, will result in legal action seeking massive monetary damages.
Reacting fiercely to the legal notice, Alexer accused the singer of orchestrating a smear campaign while avoiding a direct confrontation. “Sending your friends and sisters to post lies as damage control. Hiding behind the camera,” she wrote. “Why don’t you use your own page to spread the lies yourself… Omo na wa smh.”
This legal escalation follows a deeply emotional period for Alexer. Just days earlier, she posted a video announcing the “hardest decision” of her life: temporarily giving up custody of their two children. She cited years of pressure since their separation, alleging constant harassment and that Harrysong frequently showed up at her home unannounced.
In response, Harrysong has stated he remained silent to “protect the mother of my child and, most importantly, our kids.” He asserts he is an active and present father who continues to provide for them, calling the public narrative “deeply hurtful” and damaging to the career that supports their family.
Alexer, however, remains defiant. In another post, she accused him of manipulating and posting their children online. The mother of two vowed, “I wasn’t backing down anymore,” and promised to fight for them.
The couple’s separation has been tumultuous. Early last year, Alexer hinted at ending the marriage, a step she has now taken, calling herself “a free woman.” The past year also brought the tragic loss of her third pregnancy, a period further marred by public accusations from Harrysong that she was unfaithful during their marriage and pregnancy.
With a billion-naira lawsuit now on the table and both parties digging in, the private rift has erupted into a very public and contentious legal battle.
