Manchester United Close to Offloading Out-of-Favor Star After Turbulent Spell
Manchester United are on the verge of finalizing the sale of Jadon Sancho to Juventus in a deal worth up to £21.6 million, including performance-related add-ons. The move marks the end of a difficult chapter for the English winger, who has been frozen out of the first-team setup at Old Trafford.
According to The Mirror, Sancho is making a significant financial sacrifice to secure his transfer to Italy, agreeing to slash his wages in half to join the Serie A giants. Juventus had initially lowballed United with a £15 million (€17m) offer but have now met the club’s revised valuation, which includes achievable bonuses and severance pay for the player.
Sancho’s exit comes after a public fallout with manager Erik ten Hag last season, which saw him banished from first-team training and later loaned out to Borussia Dortmund. Despite rumors linking him with a permanent switch to Chelsea, Juventus have emerged as the frontrunners to secure his signature.
For United, the sale represents a chance to cut their losses on a player who never quite lived up to his £73 million price tag. For Sancho, it’s an opportunity to reignite his career in a new league—even if it means taking a hefty pay cut to make it happen.
