Jadon Sancho Stays at Manchester United After Making Peace with Erik Ten Hag

Sancho and Ten Hag Resolve Differences, Ensuring the Winger Remains at Old Trafford

Jadon Sancho and Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag have reportedly settled their differences, ensuring Sancho will remain a United player rather than being sold.

Sancho’s future at United was uncertain following a disagreement with Ten Hag last season. The winger, who played 79 games in his first two seasons, made only three appearances last term. After his last appearance, Ten Hag suggested that Sancho had not tried hard enough to be included in the squad for the next game. Sancho publicly refuted this, leading to a spat between the two.

As a result, Sancho was excluded from first-team activities until he apologized, which he never did. Instead, he was loaned back to his former club, Borussia Dortmund, in January. Sancho performed well at Dortmund, helping them reach the Champions League final and contributing to six goals in all competitions in half a season.

Dortmund was interested in signing him permanently but struggled to afford him. A return to United seemed unlikely after Sancho chose a loan move over apologizing and working his way back into Ten Hag’s plans. Juventus expressed interest in him, and Sancho reportedly preferred joining the Serie A giants.

However, according to Fabrizio Romano, Sancho and Ten Hag have had a positive face-to-face meeting this week and agreed to move past their disagreement. This suggests that Sancho has apologized for his public comments before his loan move last season.

Sancho is now back in training, indicating that he will not push for an exit and the club will not force him out. Although there’s still a chance he could leave if the right offer comes in, it might be difficult. Borussia Dortmund and Juventus remain interested, but financial constraints could hinder their ability to sign him.

Christian Falk reported that Borussia Dortmund had to step back due to financial limitations, and Juventus might also struggle to sign Sancho. Whether United would entertain offers from either club now remains uncertain.
