Brazilian’s Double Seals Seventh Straight UCL Win as Gunners Overpower Inter Milan
A brilliant brace from Gabriel Jesus guided Arsenal to a commanding 3–1 victory over Inter Milan at the San Siro on Tuesday night, extending the Gunners’ winning streak in the Champions League to a club-record seven matches.
The visitors arrived in Italy already assured of a place in the last 16 after Manchester City’s surprise loss earlier in the evening, but they played with relentless intent from the start. Jesus broke the deadlock after just ten minutes, sliding in to finish after a slick passing move, though Inter’s Petar Sucic soon leveled with a fierce strike.
Arsenal’s defense looked unusually open at times, and Marcus Thuram missed a golden chance to put the hosts ahead before Jesus struck again, nodding home from close range just before halftime to restore the lead.
After the break, the Gunners pushed to kill the game off. Yann Sommer denied Eberechi Eze, and Leandro Trossard volleyed just wide before substitute Viktor Gyokeres made sure of the points late on, exchanging passes with Bukayo Saka before finishing calmly.
The win extends Arsenal’s unbeaten run in all competitions to 12 games and guarantees them a top-two finish in the league phase of the Champions League. For Inter, however, the defeat leaves their hopes of a top-eight finish hanging in the balance and marks their third consecutive loss in the competition—a first since 2011.
