Bench appearances signal change as the club prepares a major overhaul of its attacking line-up
Juventus is already looking beyond Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, whose recent bench appearances have fueled growing speculation about his impending departure. As the club marks three years since Vlahovic’s arrival, plans for his exit appear to be in motion, with a separation anticipated between July and August.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has set his sights on Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen as the ideal replacement for Vlahovic. Currently on loan at Galatasaray from Napoli, Osimhen has been in scintillating form, netting 17 goals in 21 appearances. The talented striker, who previously worked with Giuntoli at Napoli during their 2023 Scudetto-winning season, is now seen as more than just a dream signing.
Juventus are reportedly prepared to trigger Osimhen’s €75 million release clause—a fee applicable only for clubs outside Italy. This, however, means that negotiations with Napoli will be necessary, adding a layer of complexity to the potential deal. With Osimhen’s future at Napoli looking uncertain as both the player and the club seem ready for a change, the move to Juventus is becoming an increasingly attractive option. The club believes he could not only replace Vlahovic but also help reduce wage costs and benefit from tax advantages under the Decreto Crescita.
The success of this ambitious plan hinges on several key factors, including the timely sale of Vlahovic and Juventus qualifying for the next Champions League—a crucial element in financing the Osimhen acquisition.
In the meantime, Juventus has also secured the services of Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG. While a permanent move for the French striker appears unlikely given PSG’s significant investment, Juventus is exploring the possibility of extending his loan for another season with a reasonable purchase option. With Arkadiusz Milik also expected to depart, the coming months will be critical in reshaping the club’s attacking lineup and setting a new course for the future.
