Juventus Make Bold Move for Gyokeres as Arsenal’s Pursuit Stalls

Italian Giants Offer Lucrative Deal to Swedish Star Amid Transfer Tug-of-War

Juventus have reportedly stepped up their pursuit of Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, preparing a massive contract offer as Arsenal’s interest in the Swedish forward appears to cool.

The 27-year-old has been one of Europe’s most sought-after attackers after another stellar season in Portugal, attracting attention from Premier League sides Arsenal and Manchester United. However, with the Gunners also considering RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting refusing to lower their asking price, Juventus have sensed an opportunity to swoop in.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A giants are ready to meet Gyokeres’ salary demands—reportedly around £11 million per year—and are preparing an official bid exceeding £60 million in the coming days. This aggressive approach could leave Arsenal scrambling, as the North London club had been considered frontrunners for his signature.

Earlier reports suggested that Gyokeres had a gentleman’s agreement with Sporting allowing him to leave for around £60 million, slightly below his release clause. However, the Portuguese club’s president, Frederico Varandas, has angrily denied such claims, even accusing the player’s agent of “playing games” to stir up transfer drama.

With Juventus now pushing hard, Arsenal may need to act fast if they still want Gyokeres—or risk losing him to the Italian giants. The coming days could prove decisive in what has become one of the summer’s most intriguing transfer battles.
