Kenyan Chef Breaks Hilda Baci’s Record for Longest Cooking Time, Yet to be Recognized by Guinness World Records

A mere two months after Hilda Baci secured recognition from Guinness World Records as the individual with the longest cooking time, a Kenyan chef has reportedly shattered the record. Maliha Mohammed, the accomplished chef, embarked on her culinary journey on August 11, striving to establish a new benchmark. Astonishingly, she cooked non-stop for an impressive 95 hours, showcasing her exceptional culinary skills and determination.

Sharing her remarkable feat on social media, Chef Maliha Mohammed expressed her achievement with pride, thanking supporters and alluding to her potential new standing: “Yes, we did it! New world record holder for the longest home kitchen cooking marathon in town Shukran for the support.” Despite her tremendous accomplishment, the Guinness World Records has yet to formally acknowledge her new achievement.

This development arrives shortly after celebrity chef Hilda Baci was officially declared the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon, surpassing the previous record held by Indian Chef Lata Tondon.

Guinness World Records meticulously assessed all evidence and substantiated Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, as the individual who had truly broken the record for the longest cooking marathon. Her astounding feat saw her dedicate an unparalleled 93 hours and 11 minutes to non-stop cooking.

Hilda, a 26-year-old Nigerian chef, initiated her marathon on Thursday, May 11, and exhibited unwavering dedication until Monday, May 15. Throughout the four-day culinary marathon, she diligently prepared over a hundred pots of food, showcasing her culinary prowess and unrelenting spirit.

While her initial goal was to set a 100-hour record, a small deduction of nearly seven hours was made from her final total due to a minor misjudgment in accounting for extra minutes during one of her early rest breaks.
