Kylian Mbappe Confirms Departure from PSG at End of Season

World Cup Winner to Seek New Challenge After Seven Years with French Club

French football star Kylian Mbappe has announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a video shared on social media platform X, confirming rumors that have been circulating for weeks.

In the video, Mbappe, a World Cup winner with France, stated, “This is my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. I will not stay on and I will end my adventure in a few weeks time.”

The 25-year-old forward initially joined PSG on loan from Monaco in 2017 before signing a permanent deal in 2022. His time at PSG has seen him win multiple league titles and French Cups, along with significant success on the international stage.

“It’s hard, it’s hard. I did not think it would be as hard as it was to announce this, to leave my country, Ligue 1 – a championship which I have always known. But I think I needed this, the need for a new challenge after this year,” Mbappe expressed in the emotional video.

While Mbappe did not disclose his destination, Real Madrid is strongly favored to secure his signature. The Spanish giants have been pursuing Mbappe for years, with previous attempts to sign him thwarted by PSG’s financial and contractual maneuvers.

Real Madrid’s persistence comes despite complications regarding Financial Fair Play rules, with PSG facing allegations of breaching these regulations due to Mbappe’s lucrative contract renewal.

Mbappe’s final match at Parc des Princes will be on Sunday when PSG faces Toulouse. The club has already clinched the league title and is preparing for the French Cup final. Despite his imminent departure, Mbappe remains focused on ending his PSG tenure on a high note, aiming to add another trophy to his impressive career record.
