French Star Scores in UEFA Super Cup Win Over Atalanta, Promises “No Limits” for Los Blancos

Kylian Mbappé made an immediate impact in his Real Madrid debut, scoring in a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup. The 25-year-old forward, who joined Real Madrid on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer, found the net in the 68th minute, expertly finishing in the top corner after a setup from Jude Bellingham.

Mbappé’s performance was particularly impressive, considering he recently recovered from a broken nose sustained during Euro 2024. Speaking to Movistar after the match, Mbappé expressed his excitement about playing for Real Madrid: “It was a great night – I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. To play with this shirt, with this badge, for these fans, it’s a gift for me.”

When asked about the potential of his new team, Mbappé sent a strong message to Real Madrid’s rivals. “We are at Real Madrid, we have no limit. If I can score 50, then 50, but the most important thing is winning and improving as a team, because we will win as a team,” he said.

Jude Bellingham, who played a deeper role to accommodate Mbappé’s position in the starting lineup, praised his new teammate. “He’s just one of those players, he’s brilliant. So sharp. So much technical quality. A great teammate as well. He works for the team, like the rest of the lads. Credit to him, and he deserves it tonight,” Bellingham said.

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti also lauded the performance of the former PSG star. “Mbappé did really well. He adapted well to the team. He combined well with Vinícius Jr and with Bellingham,” Ancelotti noted. “Of course, we have a lot of quality, but we have to play together, and we did that tonight.”
