Influencer shot and robbed, now fighting for his life in hospital.
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that TikTok influencer Ojesanmi Afeez, popularly known as Oloba Salo, was shot during a robbery in the Lekki area of the state. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, has left the social media star in critical condition.
Tunde Perry, a fellow TikToker and friend of Oloba Salo, revealed that his friend was shot in the leg by assailants who also stole his gold chain. Perry explained that the incident took place at a filling station in Lekki, and Salo was quickly rushed to Perez Medcare Hospital in Lekki Phase 2 for emergency treatment.
“They shot Salo in the leg and stole his gold chain. Some boys rushed him to the hospital, and I’ve just been there now,” Perry said.
A video circulating online shows Oloba Salo’s blood-stained white AMG GLE 43 Mercedes Benz, with a bullet casing visible on the driver’s seat.
Before the attack, the TikTok star had posted a video pleading with his manager, Sula, to provide him with security, saying, “Sula, please provide me with security… help me with one mopol.”
The shooting follows a publicized altercation between Oloba Salo and fellow TikToker Tobi Nation, though the conflict was unrelated to the robbery. Tobi Nation reportedly attempted to visit Salo in the hospital but was denied entry.
Lagos Police spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin took to X (formerly Twitter) to commend Evercare Hospital in Lekki for promptly treating the gunshot victim and notifying the authorities. He also urged other hospitals to avoid turning away gunshot victims in need of urgent care.
