Wilfred Ndidi own goal and Havertz strike in stoppage time save Arsenal, while Cole Palmer shines for Chelsea with four goals against Brighton.
Arsenal secured a dramatic 4-2 win over Leicester City, moving level on points with Manchester City at the top of the Premier League. The Gunners appeared to be cruising with a 2-0 halftime lead, but Leicester’s James Justin scored twice to bring the visitors back into contention.
Just as it seemed Arsenal might drop points, Wilfred Ndidi accidentally turned the ball into his own net from a corner in the fourth minute of stoppage time. Moments later, Kai Havertz added another goal to seal the victory and bring some gloss to the result.
The win was crucial for Arsenal, especially after Manchester City dropped points earlier in the day in a draw against Newcastle. Goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in the first half had put Arsenal in control before Justin’s heroics nearly earned Leicester a point.
In other Premier League action, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer delivered an extraordinary performance, scoring four first-half goals in a 4-2 victory over Brighton.
Despite an early setback with a goal from Brighton’s Georginio Rutter, Palmer’s quickfire hat-trick turned the match around for Chelsea.
Brighton’s Carlos Noom Quomah Baleba briefly reduced the deficit, but Palmer added a fourth before halftime, giving Chelsea a vital win that now sees them sitting third, just a point behind Arsenal and City.
