Lionel Messi continued his red-hot form by scoring his second hat-trick of the week, while Luis Suarez added two goals, as Inter Miami cruised to a 6-2 win over the New England Revolution. The victory in their final game of the regular season saw Miami set a new MLS points record with 74, surpassing the previous mark of 73 set by New England in 2021.

Messi, who came off the bench in the 58th minute, sparked a late flurry of goals, taking his tally to 20 goals in just 19 MLS appearances. Suarez also reached the 20-goal mark, netting his in 27 games.

Despite trailing 2-0 early, Miami rallied behind Suarez, who scored twice before halftime to level the score, and Messi, who delivered a stunning second-half performance.

With Miami having already secured the Supporters’ Shield for the best regular-season record, the win boosted their momentum heading into the MLS Cup playoffs. The match marked Messi’s return from injury, and head coach Gerardo Martino praised the careful handling of his recovery ahead of the crucial playoff run.

Club co-owners David Beckham and Jorge Mas celebrated the Supporters’ Shield success alongside FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who announced Miami’s qualification for the 2025 Club World Cup.
