Messi’s scintillating stats
And, on the back of the Red Devils and Blaugrana being drawn against one another, a statistic showcasing just how impressively Lionel Messi has fared against sides from the Premier League has come to the fore online once again.
The Argentine attacker has notched more goals against English opposition than any other player in the history of the Champions League:

Even more worryingly for fans of Manchester United, Messi has tended to come up trumps when it has mattered most versus the Red Devils in the past, with the 31-year-old having netted in a pair of Champions League final victories over United, in 2009 and 2011.
