Reds “ready to finalise” club-record moves for Newcastle striker and Palace defender, with personal terms agreed and the players pushing for the transfers.
Liverpool are increasingly confident of pulling off two of the biggest deals of the summer transfer window, with a monumental double move for Newcastle’s Alexander Isak and Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi now within their grasp.

According to multiple reports, the Merseyside club is “ready to finalise” the transfers, with agreements already in place on personal terms with both players. The combined deals, estimated at around £185 million, would represent a massive statement of intent from the Reds.
The main hurdle now is patience. As reported by Florian Plettenberg, Liverpool are “waiting” for both Newcastle and Crystal Palace to secure adequate replacements for their star players before giving the final green light.
The pursuit of Alexander Isak has been a particular saga. Despite Newcastle’s desperate efforts to change his mind—including a face-to-face meeting with the board—the Swedish striker has remained steadfast in his desire to move to Anfield. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed the player’s clear message to his current club: “thanks, but I want to go to Liverpool.”
This puts immense pressure on Newcastle, who are racing against time to sign a replacement. The Magpies are in advanced negotiations with Wolves for Jorgen Strand Larsen and are also tracking Brentford’s Yoane Wissa.
With the deadline fast approaching, Liverpool’s confidence is growing. The club has remained in daily contact with Isak’s camp and is prepared to return with an improved bid featuring “significant adjustments” to finally get the deal over the line. After a summer of waiting, Anfield is hoping for a spectacular finish.
