Liverpool Eye Sensational Swap Deal: Ademola Lookman for Federico Chiesa

Reds Could Send Struggling Italian Winger Back to Serie A in Exchange for Atalanta Star

Liverpool are reportedly exploring a blockbuster swap deal that would see Ademola Lookman arrive at Anfield while Federico Chiesa returns to Italy. According to Quotidiano Sportivo, Atalanta are keen on signing Chiesa, who has endured a difficult debut season with the Reds.

Despite Liverpool’s Premier League triumph, Chiesa played a minimal role, making just five substitute appearances totaling a mere 41 minutes. The Italian winger, who joined amid high expectations, now seems destined for a swift exit.

In contrast, Lookman has been one of Europe’s most sought-after attackers. The Nigerian forward, who starred in Atalanta’s Europa League final triumph last season with a stunning hat-trick, has attracted interest from top clubs across the continent. Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Newcastle have all been linked, while Barcelona and PSG are also admirers.

Liverpool’s interest in Lookman is serious, and a potential swap deal involving Chiesa plus cash could be on the table. Atalanta are expected to demand around €60 million for their star man, who was named African Footballer of the Year in 2024 and finished 14th in the Ballon d’Or rankings.

Though Lookman’s form has dipped slightly in 2025, his explosive first half of the season proved his world-class ability. A move to the Premier League now seems inevitable—and Liverpool may be leading the race.
