Anfield Outfit Stands Firm on Valuation Amid Interest from Serie A Giants
Liverpool are demanding at least £50 million for striker Darwin Nunez as Napoli emerge as serious contenders for his signature, according to reports from Metro.
Since arriving at Anfield in 2022, the Uruguayan forward has netted 40 goals across three seasons but has frequently been the subject of transfer speculation. Despite interest from clubs in January, Liverpool resisted selling him mid-season to avoid disrupting their Premier League title charge.
However, with new manager Arne Slot now at the helm, the Reds appear willing to part ways with Nunez—provided their valuation is met. The potential sale could free up funds for Slot to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.
Nunez, 25, is reportedly open to a move, attracting attention from both Saudi Arabian and European clubs. Napoli, fresh from securing Manchester City legend Kevin De Bruyne, have now made the Liverpool striker a top target. Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio claims Nunez is “open” to joining the Serie A side, where he could lead the line under new boss Antonio Conte.
With negotiations likely to heat up in the coming weeks, Liverpool’s £50m stance will test Napoli’s resolve as they look to rebuild after a turbulent season.
