Luis Diaz Requests Liverpool Exit Amid Bayern & Barcelona Interest

Colombian winger pushes for summer move as European giants circle for blockbuster transfer

Liverpool’s dynamic winger Luis Diaz has reportedly submitted a formal transfer request, signaling his desire to embark on a new challenge this summer. The 28-year-old Colombian international has attracted serious interest from European powerhouses Barcelona and Bayern Munich, with negotiations now reaching a critical stage.

According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, Diaz has informed new Liverpool manager Arne Slot of his wish to depart if an “exciting offer” materializes.

Bayern Munich appear particularly determined, with sporting director Max Eberl recently holding fresh talks with Diaz’s representatives after missing out on other top targets Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams.

Despite the player’s request, Liverpool have maintained a firm stance, refusing to sanction a sale unless their valuation is met. The Reds value their star attacker at over €50 million, with his Estimated Transfer Value currently pegged at €50.4 million. Since arriving from Porto in January 2022 for €45 million, Diaz has become a fan favorite at Anfield, contributing 41 goals and 23 assists in 148 appearances.

Diaz recently addressed the swirling transfer rumors during an interview with Colombian influencer Mauricio Gomez, striking a balanced tone. “We’re there, negotiating,” he revealed. “We’ll see what can be achieved, for us and for the club. I’m very calm where I am, very happy, but trying to make the best decision now.”

The situation remains fluid, with Bayern pushing hardest for a deal while Barcelona monitor developments. Should Diaz depart, it would mark the end of an impactful three-and-a-half year spell at Liverpool, where his electric pace and technical flair made him a key component of Jurgen Klopp’s attacking unit.

As the transfer saga unfolds, all eyes remain on whether Liverpool will hold firm or sanction a big-money sale that could reshape their summer transfer strategy under new management.
