Colombian winger set for £65m switch after final farewell to teammates and flight to Germany
Luis Díaz’s time at Liverpool has come to an end, with the Colombian winger bidding farewell to his teammates and boarding a flight to Munich to finalize his £65 million move to Bayern Munich.
The 28-year-old has played his final game for the Reds and is now set to sign a four-year deal with the Bundesliga champions, as first reported by This Is Anfield. Díaz was seen leaving Liverpool’s training ground for the last time on Monday before heading to Germany, where he will undergo his medical on Tuesday.
According to Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, the speedy forward will put pen to paper on a contract that will keep him at Bayern until 2029.
While losing Díaz will be a blow for Liverpool, the club has secured strong value for a player approaching his 30s—a deal that could benefit both sides in the long run.
Díaz, a fan favorite at Anfield, leaves after two-and-a-half energetic seasons, having initially joined from Porto in January 2022. His departure marks the end of an era, but Bayern will be gaining a dynamic and experienced winger ready to make an immediate impact in the Bundesliga.
