Luxury ‘narco-jet’ grounded with £23m of cocaine onboard, as cartel bombs rivals

A high – very high – jet has been seized by police after it was found to be carrying more than one tonne of cocaine that had an estimated street value of around £23.3 million.

It was found in Guatemala, and was allegedly flying to drop the drugs off with the Mexican Jalisco New Generation Cartel, which is widely thought of as the most powerful drug cartel in the world.

The plane was grounded by the Colombian Attorney General’s Office and the US’s Drug Enforcement Administration reports LadBible.

The drugs were allegedly made on the Venezuelan border area by Colombia’s revolutionary People’s Army.

The Gulfstream III jet took off from a secret runway in Venezuela – which wasn’t as secret as the traffickers though because that is where local police detected it.

The group is run by Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, who has a £7.3 million bounty on his head.

It wasn’t the first time the group had been in the news this week after it was pictured dropping bombs from a drone onto a rival gang’s camp.

Video footage that emerged this week shows people running from the camp after the strike on the Jalisco New Generation Cartel had taken place.

Reports say some of the drones were shot down by armed groups.

That group is run by a female – González Valencia.

A Drug Enforcement Agency chief told The Sun last year that she is a “key figure” in the group.

They said: “Rosalina is the financial genius behind the Jalisco New Generation Cartel and we believe she has been responsible for the laundering of their money.

“We’re talking hundreds of millions of dollars.”

“The arrest of Rosalinda is certainly going to have a significant impact on the cartel.

“If she co-operated and gave information and the Mexican government acted on it then it could severely damage the cartel – it could cripple it.”
