Maguire’s Late Header Saves 10-Man Manchester United in 3-3 Draw Against Porto

United’s Defensive Struggles Continue as Pressure Mounts on Erik Ten Hag

Harry Maguire came off the bench to rescue a point for 10-man Manchester United in a dramatic 3-3 draw against Porto in the UEFA Europa League. The Red Devils, looking to bounce back from a heavy defeat to Tottenham, started strong but were undone by defensive lapses.

United raced to a 2-0 lead with goals from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund, appearing to be in full control. However, Porto responded quickly with Pepe and Samu Omorodion scoring before halftime to level the match.

After Rashford was substituted at the break, Omorodion struck again to give Porto the lead. United’s task became even more difficult when Bruno Fernandes was sent off after receiving his second yellow card for a high challenge.

Just when it looked like United were heading for defeat, Maguire headed in a Christian Eriksen corner in the 91st minute to salvage a draw. Despite the late equalizer, the pressure continues to mount on manager Erik Ten Hag, whose side has now conceded heavily in multiple away European fixtures.

Porto’s 20-year-old striker was a standout, netting twice and consistently troubling United’s defense.

His positioning and finishing instincts were on full display, helping put Porto in a commanding position before Maguire’s late heroics.
