Red Devils Consider Moves for Dewsbury-Hall and Branthwaite Amidst Competition from Premier League Rivals
Manchester United is intensifying its efforts in the summer transfer market, eyeing potential signings from Leicester City and Real Madrid as they look to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
United is reportedly keen on securing the services of Leicester midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with the 25-year-old emerging as a top target for the Red Devils. Dewsbury-Hall has impressed with his performances for Leicester, contributing 10 goals and 12 assists as the Foxes aim to secure promotion back to the Premier League. While Leicester is reluctant to part ways with their academy graduate, failure to secure promotion could force them to consider offers, potentially opening the door for United to make a move.
Brighton & Hove Albion had a £20 million bid for Dewsbury-Hall rejected in January, but United is monitoring the situation closely and could capitalize on any opportunity to secure the midfielder’s signature. With Brentford also expressing interest, Dewsbury-Hall is reportedly inclined towards a move to Tottenham Hotspur to reunite with former teammate James Maddison.
In addition to their interest in Dewsbury-Hall, United is also eyeing a defensive reinforcement in the form of Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite. The 21-year-old center-back has emerged as a top target for United, who are prepared to negotiate a deal closer to £50 million, significantly lower than Everton’s valuation of £80 million. However, Real Madrid’s reported interest in Branthwaite could complicate matters for United, as the defender has previously worked with Real coach Carlo Ancelotti during his time at Everton.
Meanwhile, United finds itself in a competitive race for Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, with Manchester City, Liverpool, and Arsenal also expressing interest in the Brazilian talent. Real Madrid’s anticipated arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick have cast doubts over Rodrygo’s future, potentially paving the way for a transfer. United and other Premier League clubs could capitalize on this situation, with an offer in the region of £85 million likely to tempt Real Madrid to reconsider their stance on Rodrygo’s departure.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Manchester United remains proactive in its pursuit of reinforcements, aiming to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season and compete for major honors.
