Manager admits team’s struggles on road continue to concern him despite 2-0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim expressed clear frustration with his team’s inconsistent form after their 2-0 home victory against Sunderland, specifically highlighting their struggles away from Old Trafford.
” It’s a bit frustrating to see my team playing like this at home but not playing the same away from home,” Amorim told Sky Sports following the match, which saw goals from Mason Mount and Benjamin Sesko secure United’s third straight home win.
The victory provided some relief for the under-pressure manager ahead of the international break, moving United to eighth in the Premier League table with 10 points. However, Amorim emphasized that his team needs to improve their resilience when playing on the road.
The win also marked a special moment for summer signing Sesko, who scored his first Old Trafford goal. ” This has been the moment I’ve dreamed about as a kid,” the striker said. ” The atmosphere here is unbelievable. It’s a dream come true.”
United will face their biggest test of the season so far when they return from the international break with an away match against rivals Liverpool on October 19, giving Amorim an immediate opportunity to address his concerns about their away form.
