Nollywood Star’s Team Dismisses “Inaccurate” Reports, Confirms Bail Finalized
The management of Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie has firmly denied widespread reports that she was re-arrested shortly after her release from custody. In an official statement released on Monday, her representatives confirmed she is currently free and her bail conditions have been finalized.
“It has come to our attention that certain blogs have reported the re-arrest of singer & actress Angela Okorie,” the statement from The Moving Train Entertainment read. “The management hereby clarifies that she is currently free and has not been re-arrested as alleged.”
The team labeled the circulating reports as “inaccurate and misleading” and urged the public to rely only on verified sources for information regarding the star’s legal situation.
Okorie was initially arrested on January 26 in Lagos on allegations of cyberstalking and cyberbullying, stemming from a petition filed by fellow actress Mercy Johnson Okojie. She was subsequently transferred to Abuja, where she was held at the Suleja Correctional Centre before being granted bail last week.
The celebrated actress, who launched her career in 2009, is known for her bold roles in over 80 Nollywood films, particularly in action and drama genres, as well as her music career. The latest statement from her camp seeks to quell the swirling rumors and clarify her status following a tumultuous period in the public eye.
