Manchester City Eyes Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, Real Sets €100m Price Tag

Guardiola targets Brazilian forward amid summer transfer speculations

Manchester City has expressed interest in acquiring Real Madrid forward Rodrygo this summer, with reports indicating that the La Liga giants have set a price tag of €100 million (£84 million) for the Brazilian star.

Pep Guardiola, fresh off guiding the Citizens to their fourth consecutive Premier League title last season, is keen to bolster his squad further. With his contract at the Etihad Stadium expiring next summer, Guardiola aims to continue his legacy with significant signings, and Rodrygo appears to be a prime target.

Rodrygo’s availability has come into question following Kylian Mbappe’s expected arrival at the Bernabeu. The influx of top-tier talent may force Real Madrid to offload one of their key attackers, making Rodrygo – also linked with Arsenal – a potential candidate for departure.

Spanish reports suggest that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is planning a “golden sale” of Rodrygo to Manchester City. Guardiola is reportedly a “great admirer” of the 23-year-old, who notched 17 goals and seven assists across all competitions last season.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided updates on this potential move in his Caught Offside column. Romano also addressed speculation surrounding Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger, clarifying that neither player is poised to leave their current clubs despite rumors of interest from Saudi Arabian teams.

Romano emphasized that Al Ittihad has not made any proposal for De Bruyne and that Rudiger remains committed to Real Madrid, with no plans to entertain offers from Saudi clubs at this time.
