Iconic Red-and-Black Sash Returns with Artistic Twist for Tournament in the U.S.
Manchester City have revealed a striking special edition kit for the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States, blending football tradition with streetwear flair. Designed in collaboration with New York-based fashion visionary KidSuper, the kit will debut in City’s second group-stage match against Al Ain next week.
The eye-catching design features the club’s famous red-and-black sash on a white base, overlaid with hand-painted graphics inspired by the Poznan celebration—a fan-favorite dance performed by City supporters. A neon yellow goalkeeper kit with a bold black-and-yellow sash completes the set, ensuring both outfield players and keepers make a statement on the pitch.
Colm Dillane, the creative force behind KidSuper, called the project a dream come true: “Designing for a club as iconic as Manchester City has been incredible. I wanted to take their classic look and reinvent it—something that works for football but also feels fresh in streetwear. This collection is where sport, fashion, and art collide.”
The design pays homage to City’s 2009/10 sash kit, a nostalgic nod that excites club legend Shaun Wright-Phillips, who wore the original. “Seeing this kit return with a modern twist—and a tribute to the Poznan—is brilliant,” he said. “KidSuper nailed it, and I can’t wait to see the team wear it in the U.S.”
Pep Guardiola’s side begin their Club World Cup campaign against Wydad AC on June 18, with hopes of lifting the trophy in the July 13 final. The limited-edition kit and matching lifestyle collection will be available for fans, merging City’s on-field ambitions with off-pitch style.
As the tournament kicks off, City aren’t just playing for silverware—they’re making a fashion statement too.
