Club Confident Despite Speculation of a Move
Reports suggest that Manchester United plans to keep England international Marcus Rashford for the next season, despite rumors linking him to Paris Saint-Germain. Rashford had an outstanding season in 2022/23 under manager Erik ten Hag, scoring 30 goals across all competitions. However, his performance dipped last season, netting only seven goals in 33 Premier League appearances and losing his spot in the England squad for Euro 2024.
This decline in form has sparked speculation about a potential move, with PSG reportedly showing interest. Despite this, a report from Football Transfers claims that Manchester United is confident Rashford will stay with the club. The report states that Rashford and Ten Hag are both looking forward to the upcoming season, and the club expects Rashford to return for pre-season training.
Meanwhile, sources from PSG have indicated that they are not pursuing Rashford and are focusing on other targets.
In contrast, Jadon Sancho, another English player at Manchester United, is more likely to leave this summer after clashing with Ten Hag last season. Sancho, who was loaned back to Borussia Dortmund in the winter transfer window, impressed in the Champions League and is now valued at around £40 million by Manchester United.
Dortmund is interested in retaining Sancho but may not meet Manchester United’s asking price. Juventus has also shown interest in signing Sancho, although they face challenges in meeting the €50 million valuation. Sancho’s priority is reportedly to join another Premier League club this summer.
As the transfer window progresses, Manchester United’s decisions regarding Rashford and Sancho will be closely watched by fans and clubs alike.
