The experienced treble-winner, entering the final year of his contract, emerges as a key figure in United’s search for a permanent boss.
In their search for a new permanent manager, Manchester United have identified Paris Saint-Germain’s Luis Enrique as a principal target, according to a report.
The club’s ownership is specifically seeking an experienced head coach capable of weathering the intense pressure at Old Trafford. Enrique, who guided PSG to a domestic treble last season and previously won a historic treble with Barcelona, is seen as a figure with the necessary “winning pedigree.”
The 53-year-old Spaniard finds himself on a shortlist that is also believed to include other high-profile names like Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, and Carlo Ancelotti.
A potential factor in United’s interest is Enrique’s contractual situation. He will enter the final twelve months of his PSG deal this summer and has yet to agree to an extension. If no new contract is signed, it could allow United to negotiate without a prohibitive compensation fee.
Despite the growing speculation linking him with an exit, Enrique has publicly denied plans to leave the French capital this summer and could still commit his future to PSG. The coming months will determine whether the allure of reviving one of football’s fallen giants proves decisive.
