Manchester United has set its sights on Atalanta’s promising young talent, Rasmus Hojlund, as the club looks to bolster its striker options during the summer transfer window. The Red Devils have reportedly shifted their focus away from pursuing Tottenham striker Harry Kane and are preparing to launch a £50-million bid to secure Hojlund’s signature.
According to The Telegraph, Manchester United had initially considered Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani, a France international, as one of their potential options. However, the club’s preference has now shifted to Hojlund, who has been identified as their top target.
The pursuit of Hojlund comes as Manchester United adheres to a strict budget due to financial fair play considerations. Nevertheless, the club remains confident that they can secure the talented striker for a fee of around £50 million. However, the progress of the deal may be contingent upon the resolution of the Glazer sale process.
In an effort to reset their financial fair play considerations, Manchester United is also exploring the possibility of offloading some of their current players. Harry Maguire, Jadon Sancho, Fred, Scott McTominay, Anthony Martial, Alex Telles, Anthony Elanga, and Eric Bailly are all reportedly under consideration for potential sales.
