The French forward is set to join Juventus on loan, leaving United’s striker search in limbo.
Manchester United’s hopes of signing Randal Kolo Muani have been dashed as the 26-year-old forward closes in on a move to Juventus. The Paris Saint-Germain striker, who has struggled for game time this season, was on United’s radar as they sought reinforcements in attack.
Kolo Muani has been out of favor at PSG, making just three Ligue 1 starts and logging only 453 minutes of first-team action during the 2024/25 campaign. His absence from PSG’s squad since their goalless draw with Auxerre on December 16 fueled speculation about an imminent transfer.
Now, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Juventus have secured a loan deal for the French international, although the agreement includes no buy option. The move had been delayed due to PSG’s cap on loaned-out players abroad. However, the Parisian club resolved the issue by mutually terminating Juan Bernat’s contract, enabling the left-back to finalize a six-month deal with Villarreal, where he was already on loan.
Kolo Muani’s move is expected to be officially announced in the coming days, delivering a significant blow to Manchester United. The Red Devils had been monitoring the striker amid their ongoing search for attacking options, as current forwards Rasmus Højlund and Joshua Zirkzee have struggled to find form, managing just five goals between them this season.
United had reportedly not ruled out the possibility of securing Kolo Muani, showcasing their intent to bolster their attack. However, with the French forward now headed to Turin, the pressure mounts on manager Ruben Amorim to address the team’s scoring woes as they look to revive their campaign.
