Manchester United’s Unwanted Stars Still Waiting for Exits as Amorim Refuses to Delay Reinforcements

Manager confirms several players want out but insists club won’t pause transfer plans amid ongoing uncertainty.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has openly addressed the delicate situation surrounding several players who wish to leave the club—but made it clear the Red Devils won’t put their transfer business on hold until sales are complete.

Speaking ahead of United’s trip to Fulham on Sunday, Amorim confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, and Jadon Sancho all seek moves away from Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford has already left on loan for Barcelona, but the others remain in limbo. Amorim omitted all four from the matchday squad in last weekend’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.

“I know it’s not a good thing to have players in this situation, but it’s clear that they want to play in a different club,” Amorim told reporters. “We are not waiting to take out someone to bring another player. One thing is not responsible for the other.”

Despite already spending around £200 million this summer on new signings—including attackers Benjamin Šeško, Matheus Cunha, and Bryan Mbeumo—United remain active in the market and are prepared to move forward without delay.

Amorim also provided a team update, confirming that first-choice goalkeeper André Onana is fit again after missing the Arsenal match with a hamstring issue. His replacement, Altay Bayındır, was at fault for Arsenal’s early winner, adding pressure to the selection dilemma ahead of the Fulham clash.

“Onana is ready to play like last week… so we will see who is going to be the goalkeeper,” said Amorim, who also noted that only Lisandro Martínez and Noussair Mazraoui remain unavailable through injury.

Looking ahead, the United boss warned of a tough test against a Fulham side managed by the “experienced and smart” Marco Silva. After a disappointing start, Amorim will be hoping his side can turn promise into points on the road.
