Beauty Queen Prioritizes Recovery with Support from Miss South Africa Organization
Mia Le Roux, the reigning Miss South Africa, has announced her withdrawal from the upcoming Miss Universe competition in Mexico City due to health concerns. The news was shared on Friday in a statement issued by the Miss South Africa Organization, which emphasized the importance of her well-being.
In a heartfelt message to her supporters, Le Roux expressed her gratitude while acknowledging the difficulty of her decision.
“Making this decision has been incredibly challenging, knowing the dreams and hopes that have been placed upon me,” she said. “However, I am deeply grateful to have the opportunity to focus on my health and recovery so that I may continue to serve my country with full strength.”
The Miss South Africa Organization voiced its unwavering support for Le Roux’s decision, prioritizing her health above all else.
“Her health and well-being are our utmost priority,” the organization stated. “We stand by her side, dedicated to ensuring she regains her strength and returns to full health. Our hearts are with her as she takes the necessary steps toward recovery.”
The Miss Universe preliminary competition began on Friday, hosted by former titleholders R’Bonney Gabriel from the United States and Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua. The grand coronation night is set for November 16 in Mexico City.
While Mia Le Roux’s absence from the global stage is a disappointment to her supporters, her decision highlights the importance of health and self-care, with the hope that she will make a strong return to serve South Africa in the future.
