Neymar Camp Denies Rumors of Al Hilal Exit Amid Santos Return Speculation

Agent shuts down reports of contract termination as speculation persists

Neymar’s representatives have dismissed swirling rumors suggesting the Brazilian star is planning to terminate his Al Hilal contract to facilitate a dramatic return to his boyhood club, Santos.

The speculation gained traction following reports by Brazilian journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, who claimed that Neymar was negotiating his release from Al Hilal and had already agreed on a deal with Santos. This comes during a challenging stint in Saudi Arabia, where the 32-year-old has made just seven appearances since joining the club due to persistent injuries, including an ACL tear and a recent hamstring setback.

Despite Santos President Andres Rueda acknowledging interest in Neymar, the star’s agent, Pini Zahavi, firmly denied the claims. Speaking to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Zahavi stated:

“There are no talks ongoing for Neymar to leave Al Hilal. He’s under contract and very happy there. Neymar’s father and I are the only people authorized to discuss his future. I don’t know where these rumors are coming from.”

Neymar, who scored 107 goals for Santos before departing for Barcelona in 2013, remains a beloved figure at the Brazilian club. However, Santos recently endured a shock relegation to the second tier, though they secured an immediate return to the top flight, finishing their campaign with 68 points from 37 games.

Merlo, standing by his report, doubled down after Zahavi’s denial:

“Neymar’s agent publicly denies what Santos said. I stand by every word I’ve published. Time will put things in their place.”

Neymar joined Al Hilal last year in an £86.3 million move from Paris Saint-Germain. While he remains sidelined with a hamstring injury for another four to six weeks, his long-term future at the Saudi Pro League club continues to spark debate.
