Blues Secure 3-0 Derby Victory as West Ham’s Struggles Continue
Chelsea surged to second place in the Premier League standings with a convincing 3-0 victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium, thanks to a double from Nicolas Jackson. The dynamic forward opened the scoring just four minutes into the match, slotting home after a pass from Jadon Sancho. Jackson added his second goal 14 minutes later, capping off a fine solo run with a composed finish following a precise through ball from Moises Caicedo.
Despite a brief spell of pressure from Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham side, Chelsea maintained control, and Cole Palmer sealed the win early in the second half. Palmer netted the third goal in the 47th minute, converting off the post after a swift counter-attack orchestrated by Jackson.
The victory extends Chelsea’s impressive run, with Enzo Maresca’s team accumulating 10 points from their last four matches since their opening day defeat to Manchester City. The Blues now sit above Arsenal on goal difference and trail leaders Manchester City by just two points, albeit having played one more game.
Meanwhile, West Ham’s disappointing start to the season continues as they find themselves in 14th place with only one win from five matches. The Hammers are grappling with their worst start to a league campaign at home, having lost their first three home fixtures for the first time in their history.
