Nigerian Comedian DeeOne Completes Epic Guinness World Record Attempt for Longest Comedy Marathon

After a grueling multi-day performance in Lagos, the comedian awaits official confirmation to dethrone the current record holder.

In a monumental feat of endurance and humor, Nigerian comedian DeeOne has stepped off the stage after completing his attempt for the Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy marathon. The comic performed for an undisclosed number of hours at the Pallazzo in Lagos from October 2nd to October 4th, 2025, pushing through physical and mental limits to surpass the current record of 40 hours, 16 minutes, and 48 seconds held by American comedian Benny Elbows.

The event, which captivated fans and supporters, has now concluded, but the final outcome rests in the hands of Guinness World Records judges. There has been no official confirmation yet that DeeOne has broken the record, as the organization must meticulously review evidence from the attempt to ensure all guidelines were strictly followed.

DeeOne’s ambitious endeavor continues a wave of Nigerian attempts to claim global titles, coming hot on the heels of celebrity chef Hilda Baci’s massive “jollof cook-off” at the Eko Hotels and Suites. That event, a celebration of Nigerian cuisine, drew a massive audience of 20,000 and featured notable figures like Nollywood star Funke Akindele.

For now, DeeOne and the nation await the final verdict, hoping to add a new world record in comedy to Nigeria’s growing list of international achievements.
