Nollywood Actress Halima Abubakar Apologizes to Apostle Suleman, Admits to False Accusations

Years of Scandal End as Halima Abubakar Publicly Recants Allegations Against Nigerian Cleric

Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has brought an end to her long-running, scandalous conflict with Apostle Johnson Suleman, a prominent Nigerian cleric, by issuing a public apology and admitting that the accusations she had leveled against him were false.

In a surprising and emotional turn of events, Halima took to Instagram on Wednesday, October 23, to publicly apologize to Apostle Suleman, reversing years of damning claims that had shaken both his ministry and personal life. In her heartfelt message, the actress expressed remorse and regret, acknowledging that the accusations she made—accusations that painted the cleric as an adulterer and even linked him to her prolonged illness—were fabricated.

This apology marks the end of a bitter feud that began in 2022 when Halima set social media ablaze with accusations that she had an affair with Apostle Suleman, which she claimed led to her deteriorating health. In one of her most shocking allegations, she asserted that the cleric engaged in sexual activities with her while she was bleeding, and that she had suffered three pregnancies by him, tragically losing each one.

Apostle Suleman responded to these claims by taking legal action, determined to clear his name. In April 2024, the Federal Capital Territory High Court ruled in favor of the cleric, ordering Halima Abubakar to pay N10 million in damages for defamation.

Despite the court ruling, Halima had remained steadfast in her accusations—until now. Her unexpected apology has sent shockwaves through both the entertainment industry and religious communities, bringing an end to a saga that has captured public attention for years.
