In a raw and revealing interview, the rapper addresses Saweetie dating gossip, takes blame for his split from Cardi B, and opens up about his journey through grief and addiction.
In a heartfelt conversation with actress Keke Palmer, rapper Offset has publicly set the record straight for the first time, directly confronting the swirling rumors about his personal life and reflecting on a period of profound loss and growth.
The artist, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, firmly dismissed months of speculation about a romance with fellow rapper Saweetie. “That whole Saweetie thing was just weird,” he stated, characterizing the cheating allegations as completely unfounded and “unnecessary.”
The interview took a more somber turn as Offset looked back on the end of his nearly seven-year marriage to Cardi B. With striking candor, he shouldered the blame for the relationship’s collapse, admitting, “I messed up, and it cost me my marriage.” He acknowledged that his own infidelity created a rift that could not be mended. Despite their separation, he expressed deep respect for Cardi, whom he affectionately calls “bro,” and clarified that their divorce is not yet final.
Offset also opened up about his difficult journey following the tragic death of his cousin and Migos bandmate, Takeoff. He revealed that the combination of grief and the pressures of fame led him into a battle with codeine addiction. Now on a path to healing, he credits therapy and his faith with helping him regain control. “I’m focused on becoming a better man now,” he shared, pointing to the hard-won lessons learned from loss, his personal missteps, and the glare of the public eye.
