Supermodel Asserts She Was the First Nigerian and African Ambassador for the Brand

Supermodel Oluchi Onweagba has clarified her position as the first Nigerian and African ambassador for L’Oréal Paris, following Nigerian actress and heiress Temi Otedola’s recent announcement as the brand’s first African Digital Ambassador.

Oluchi took to Instagram to set the record straight, sharing proof of her earlier association with the brand. In her post, she emphasized her pioneering role and shared a throwback photo of herself modeling for L’Oréal Paris.

“LEGITIMATE TBT FIRST NIGERIAN REMAINS FIRST FOREVER. NOT A LOUD SPEAKER BUT COUNT ON ME TO SHOW YOU ALL RECEIPT,” Oluchi wrote, asserting her rightful claim.

This post comes in response to Temi Otedola’s announcement where she expressed her excitement about becoming the first African Digital Ambassador for L’Oréal Paris. Temi had shared:

“I still don’t believe I’m typing this but I’m so excited to announce that I am the first ever African Digital Ambassador for @lorealparis. I’m truly honoured to be the first Nigerian representing L’Oréal not only across Africa but also on a global stage. This has been the hardest secret to keep for the last 6 months!!”

The social media exchange has highlighted the achievements of both women in representing Nigeria on the global beauty stage.
