Blues Remain in Talks with Napoli as Saudi Pro League Threat Looms
Chelsea continues to negotiate with Napoli for the transfer of Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, with reports suggesting the London club is “confident” a deal can be reached. Osimhen, who has also attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, particularly Al-Ahli, remains a top target for Chelsea despite the financial muscle of the Saudi club.
Al-Ahli has reportedly agreed to terms with Osimhen, as well as Brentford striker Ivan Toney, placing Chelsea in a precarious position as they struggle to match the lucrative offers from the Saudi side. However, journalist Rudy Galetti has indicated that the Premier League club remains optimistic about their chances of signing the forward.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Galetti stated, “Chelsea are still discussing with Napoli the verbal proposal made for Osimhen.
The club is also in contact with his camp to finalize the last details after having reached a general understanding on personal terms. Chelsea is still confident to get the deal done.”
As negotiations continue, Chelsea’s hopes of securing Osimhen hinge on overcoming the financial challenge posed by the Saudi Pro League, with the transfer window rapidly closing.
