Chelsea star celebrates by covering ears after first-half treble lifts Blues, with Rosenior praising his “world-class” talent.
Liam Rosenior hailed an “unstoppable” Cole Palmer after the Chelsea forward’s first-half hat-trick powered his side to a 3-1 win at Wolves on Saturday, a performance that served as a defiant answer to recent speculation.

Palmer was in ruthless form, calmly converting two penalties before drilling a fierce finish into the roof of the net to complete his treble before halftime. His celebration—covering his ears—was a clear response to external reports questioning his happiness at the club.
“When he’s at his best, he’s unstoppable,” a delighted Rosenior said of his star man. “He’s a world-class player. I don’t want him to change, that’s for sure. Some of our football was everything I wanted to see, and he was a part of that.”
The hat-trick, which took Palmer past 50 goals for Chelsea, comes at a critical time. Rosenior has faced persistent questions about Palmer’s form and fitness since becoming manager, with the club carefully managing the 23-year-old’s minutes following a groin injury.
“When he’s fully firing and feeling good, he’s a magnificent footballer,” Rosenior admitted, acknowledging the unique pressures at Stamford Bridge. “You have to block out the noise and remember what a good player you are. I love working with him. He loves being here.”
For his part, Palmer credited Rosenior’s management for helping him rediscover his spark. “Life under Liam is amazing; he gives us all confidence,” Palmer said. “It lets us be ourselves, play free.” He also hinted there is more to come, adding, “When I’m back proper fit, you’ll see the best of me.”
The victory provides a significant lift for Rosenior’s project, seemingly reaffirming the bond between manager and talisman. For now, the only noise Palmer is creating is the sound of the net bulging.
