Pep Guardiola is still not over a snub from his Pretty Woman.
The Man City boss was in a jubilant mood after watching his side demolish RB Leipzig 7-0 – with Erling Haaland scoring five times, but had Julia Roberts on his mind.
They are through to the quarter-finals and after sure to be one of the favourites to win the Champions League.
It has been a competition that has eluded City so far, getting as far as the final when they lost to Chelsea.
However, Guardiola insists he will still be a failure at the club even if he wins the competition three times in a row.
“I am a failure in the Champions League,” Guardiola smiled. “If win the Champions League three times in a row I will be a failure.
“I have three idols in my life. Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, and Julia Roberts. These are my three idols.
“Julia Roberts years ago came to Manchester – not in the 90s when Sir Alex (Ferguson) was winning titles and titles and titles. She came in the period where we were better than United, in these four or five years, right?
“And she went to visit Man United. She didn’t come to see us. That’s why even if I win the Champions League it will not compare for the fact that Julia Roberts came to Manchester and didn’t come to see us.
“Even if I win the Champions League it will not compare to this disappointment I had.”
Hollywood star Roberts visited United in November 2016 to watch their 1-1 draw with West Ham.
That day saw Jose Mourinho get a red card, while Zlatan Ibramhimovic cancelled out Diafra Sakho’s opener.
