Despite a ruling in Mbappe’s favor, PSG refuses to pay, citing an alleged verbal agreement
Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe remain embroiled in a dispute over €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses, following a strained summer departure. The French Professional League (LFP) recently ruled in favor of the star forward, yet PSG has refused to fulfill the payment, asserting that Mbappe verbally agreed to forgo part of his salary if he left for Real Madrid upon his contract’s expiration.
According to sources, PSG stopped making full payments after Mbappe’s intention to move became apparent. Despite the LFP’s decision, PSG is preparing to take the matter to court, though the club claims it is still open to a “friendly solution” to resolve the impasse.
The fallout has further strained relations between Mbappe and PSG. The 25-year-old forward, who scored a record 256 goals during his seven-year tenure with PSG, recently suggested the club orchestrated a smear campaign against him ahead of the LFP’s ruling.
While the legal proceedings may extend well into the coming months, Mbappe’s camp remains hopeful that PSG will comply with the LFP’s decision. For now, the tension over his departure continues to cast a shadow over one of the most celebrated players in PSG’s history.
