With Ligue 1 Already Secured, Parisians Target Champions League Glory and French Football Immortality
Paris Saint-Germain have silenced the doubters, proving they don’t need superstar names to dominate French football. After clinching their fourth straight Ligue 1 title—and a record-extending 13th overall—with six games to spare, manager Luis Enrique now has his sights set on an even bigger prize: an unprecedented unbeaten season.
A hard-fought 1-0 win over Angers at the Parc des Princes sealed the title, but the real story is PSG’s relentless consistency. With no losses in 28 matches, they’re now chasing history—just five games away from breaking Nantes’ 30-year-old record of 32 unbeaten. No French club has ever gone an entire league campaign without defeat, and Luis Enrique is determined to be the first.
“Celebrating a title in early April shows just how strong we’ve been,” the Spanish boss said after the match. “But we’re not done yet. Going unbeaten would be something special—something no one in France has ever done. That’s our motivation now, and it will only help us in the Champions League and Coupe de France.”
When Kylian Mbappé departed last summer, many wondered if PSG could maintain their dominance. Yet, rather than relying on a single superstar, the team has thrived as a collective. Ousmane Dembélé (21 goals) and Bradley Barcola (13 goals) have stepped up, while an astonishing 18 different players have found the net this season. With 80 goals already—set to surpass last year’s total—PSG’s attack is more dangerous than ever.
“I’m lucky to have such intelligent, versatile players who attack and defend as one,” Luis Enrique said. “When I see the team working together like this, it’s exactly what I’ve dreamed of. The fans love it, and so do I.”
PSG’s dominance has been staggering—just five draws blemish their record, and they’ve won nine straight league games since February. But the job isn’t finished. Next up? A Champions League quarter-final clash with Aston Villa and a Coupe de France final against Stade de Reims.
“The next two months are crucial,” Luis Enrique added. “We’re in great form, and our target is clear: fight for everything and make history.”
For PSG, the message is simple—this isn’t just a title-winning team. It could soon become an immortal one.
