PSG Slashes Price for City Target Donnarumma in Surprise Fire Sale

Manchester City’s move for Italian goalkeeper hinges on successful sale of current star Ederson to Turkish giants.

In a significant twist to the summer transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain have dramatically reduced their asking price for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma to just £26 million, making a potential move to Manchester City more plausible than ever.

The European champions are reportedly eager to part ways with the Italian international, opening the door for a cut-price deal. Donnarumma, who is 26 years old, is understood to be keen on a switch to the Premier League champions.

However, City’s pursuit is not straightforward. The club will only make a formal move for Donnarumma if they can successfully negotiate the sale of their own long-serving number one, Ederson. The Brazilian goalkeeper was notably absent from Manchester City’s first two matches of the new season as speculation over his future continues.

The sticking point remains the transfer fee. Turkish club Galatasaray are interested in acquiring Ederson but saw an initial offer of £8.5 million swiftly rejected. Manchester City are holding out for a fee of at least double that amount for the 32-year-old, who has been a cornerstone of Pep Guardiola’s squad since his £35 million arrival from Benfica in 2017.

The situation has created a delicate transfer domino effect, with Donnarumma’s future now directly tied to Ederson’s proposed move to Istanbul.
