PSG Targets Jhon Duran as Aston Villa Demand €100M Transfer Fee

Colombian Striker Draws Interest from Paris as Villa Weigh Replacement Options

Paris Saint-Germain are closely monitoring Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, but the Premier League side has made it clear they will not part with their prolific forward for less than €100 million. The 21-year-old Colombian has impressed with his remarkable goals-per-minute ratio this season, even as he struggles to cement a starting role ahead of Ollie Watkins.

Duran has netted 12 goals in all competitions, averaging one every 81.5 minutes despite only seven starts. While he signed a lucrative contract extension with Villa in October, tying him to the club until 2030, the forward remains keen on a move, particularly as game time under Unai Emery has been limited.

Villa are open to selling Duran for the right price, but any deal would hinge on securing a replacement. The club is reportedly in talks to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen as a potential addition.

PSG are rumored to be exploring ways to soften Villa’s demands, including the possibility of sending Randal Kolo Muani or Marco Asensio to Villa Park as part of the deal. However, Villa’s asking price for Duran has doubled from €50 million in the summer to a staggering €100 million, reflecting the striker’s growing value and potential.

While Villa appreciate Duran’s frustrations over limited minutes, they are cautious about losing such a prolific talent. The club, however, remains pragmatic and open to high-value trades, especially as they aim to bolster their squad this winter.

In addition to Malen, Villa have been linked with Celta Vigo defender Óscar Mingueza, whose release clause is set at €20 million. But the club may need to sell before making further purchases. With the recent sale of Jaden Philogene to Ipswich for over €20 million, negotiations with PSG for Duran could intensify in the coming weeks.

For PSG, Duran’s potential acquisition represents a chance to add firepower to their squad, but Villa’s tough stance ensures this transfer saga remains one to watch.
