Real Madrid Set to Battle Chelsea and Liverpool for Nottingham Forest Defender Murillo

La Liga Giants Eye Young Centre-Back as Part of Defensive Reinforcements for Next Season

Real Madrid are preparing to enter a transfer battle with Chelsea and Liverpool next summer in a bid to sign Nottingham Forest’s rising star, Murillo. As Carlo Ancelotti looks to strengthen his squad’s defense, the 22-year-old Brazilian has emerged as a key target for Los Blancos, with veteran defenders Antonio Rüdiger and David Alaba both entering their 30s.

Real Madrid’s current defensive options are limited, particularly following the departure of Nacho Fernandez in the summer and with Eder Militao sidelined by injury. The need for reinforcements at the heart of their defense has grown urgent, and Murillo, who has drawn comparisons to Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk for his composure, tackling ability, and ball-playing skills, has caught their eye.

Signed by Nottingham Forest from Corinthians in 2023 for just €12 million, Murillo’s market value has skyrocketed to an estimated €20.2 million. However, with several top European clubs interested in his signature, the final transfer fee is expected to exceed this figure significantly.

Murillo, nicknamed “Beckenbauer” for his ease on the ball and dribbling abilities, could fetch a major profit for Forest. His performances have sparked interest across the Premier League and La Liga, positioning him as one of the most sought-after defenders ahead of the summer window.

While Murillo is a top target, Real Madrid are also exploring other options. Tottenham’s Cristian Romero and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite are reportedly on their radar. However, their dream signing remains Arsenal’s William Saliba, whom they regard as one of the best defenders in the world. Despite their interest, Arsenal have made it clear that Saliba is not for sale at any price, with his current estimated value standing at €73.3 million.

Real Madrid’s search for a defensive solution will likely intensify as they prepare to compete with Chelsea and Liverpool for Murillo’s services, while other potential targets remain in view.
