Nigerian reality TV star Phyna has broken her silence on the widely circulated video of a physical altercation at an Abuja hotel, asserting that she was the victim of an ambush and that the footage was edited to misrepresent the event.
In a detailed post on her Instagram page, the BBNaija winner presented her side of the story. She claimed she was attacked from behind by a group that included touts, who were also there to record the incident.
“Who I beat [is] in the hospital, [they] brought touts to fight me and people to record,” Phyna wrote. “I was attacked from behind on my way out, they even cropped the video just to twist the story to say they beat me.”
Striking a concerned tone, she added that the other girl involved has not yet regained consciousness and asked her followers, “Pray for me make who I beat no die abeg,” urging them to pray for the individual’s recovery.
The incident has ignited a firestorm of mixed reactions online. While some of her fans have rallied to her defense, arguing she was acting in self-defense, others have criticized her for engaging in a physical fight, noting her responsibility as a public figure.
As the controversy continues to trend, the public is awaiting further clarity, with many echoing Phyna’s own call for prayers for a full recovery for the injured party.
