Nigerian Music Star Expresses Gratitude for Childhood Support with Generous Contribution
Nigerian music sensation Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema, has made a remarkable donation of ₦105 million to Christ Embassy Church in Benin City, Edo State. This generous act took place during Rema’s visit to Edo State as part of the Edo@33 celebration.
Rema’s visit included participating in the groundbreaking ceremony for the 6,000-capacity Edo Dome and delivering a musical performance at Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, all organized by the state government.
The donation was made to the Edo Regional Headquarters of Christ Embassy, located on Erediauwa Street off Ekenwa Road. Rema explained that his contribution was a gesture of gratitude for the church’s unwavering support for his family during a difficult time in his childhood.
During a thanksgiving service at the church, Rema shared how the church had been a pillar of support for his family following the loss of his father when he was just eight years old. “I am not here to give myself any form of accolades or glory but to give to God the glory,” Rema said. “I felt it was important to give back to the church that has embraced me, prayed for me, and kept me very consistent with my spirit.”
Rema recounted how the church’s pastors, Pastor Joy and Pastor Thomas, had opened a shop for his mother, which helped sustain his family after they had lost everything. In appreciation for the church’s kindness, Rema pledged a total of ₦105 million in donations.
