PSG and Chelsea made late moves, but no deal materialized as Napoli stood firm
Napoli turned down a staggering €210 million offer for star striker Victor Osimhen during the summer transfer window, according to reports from Italian media. Despite significant interest from top European clubs including Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), and Arsenal, no deal was finalized before Deadline Day.
Osimhen, 25, who was linked with a move away from Serie A, ultimately joined Galatasaray on loan after failing to secure a transfer to one of Europe’s major clubs. Napoli, determined to hold on to their prized asset, insisted that any suitor meet Osimhen’s €130 million release clause.
PSG came closest, reportedly offering a joint bid for Osimhen and Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia worth €210 million. Chelsea also expressed strong interest but failed to agree on personal terms with the Nigerian striker before the transfer window closed.
Despite Napoli’s willingness to negotiate, no club was prepared to meet the club’s financial demands, leaving Osimhen’s future unresolved. Napoli is now working on securing a new contract for Kvaratskhelia, though it’s unclear if the Georgian star will face similar transfer obstacles.
Osimhen’s temporary move to Galatasaray delays what many believe is his inevitable departure from Napoli, with major clubs expected to reignite their interest in the striker next summer.
