Ronaldo return to Man Utd ‘more concrete’ than Real reunion

Cristiano Ronaldo is more likely to return to Man Utd than move back to Spanish giants Real Madrid, according to reports.

The Portugal international was a key figure during huge successes at both the Red Devils and Los Blancos with the forward winning numerous trophies at both clubs.

Ronaldo won three Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a Champions League at Man Utd, before going on to win an unbelievable four Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles at Real.

Despite winning two Serie A titles since joining Juventus, their failure to win the Champions League in Ronaldo’s time there could see him leave the club this summer.

Juve have failed to go further than the quarter-finals since he joined in 2018 and reports last week indicated that Ronaldo could now head back to Real Madrid, while Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane seemed to suggest on Monday that the speculation over a possible Bernabeu reunion are true.

When asked if the rumours of a return to Real Madrid were true, Zidane said: “Yes, it may be [true].

“We know Cristiano, we know the person he is and everything he has done here.

“Now, let’s see what the future will be. I was lucky enough to coach him and he is very impressive. Right now, he’s helping Juventus.”

But Italian publication Tuttosport reckon there are ‘more chances of seeing Cristiano Ronaldo with the Juventus shirt next season than witnessing a divorce.

There is ‘tranquility in the Juventus management’ over the issue with Juve chief football officer Fabio Paratici saying: “We keep him close, he represents the future of Juve.”

The fact that Ronaldo would only join a side capable of winning the Champions League also ‘tightens the number of possible teams’ he could join this summer.

Tuttosport adds that ‘Florentino Perez has not even opened the door ajar’ for Ronaldo with the Real Madrid president ready to ‘attempt to invest his market jackpot on’ PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Instead, if Ronaldo were to leave the Old Lady then a move to Man Utd ‘seems a more concrete hypothesis and finds some confirmation in the market environment’.
