New Manchester United Boss Demands More from Rashford After Impressive Brace Against Everton
Ruben Amorim has called on Marcus Rashford to continue pushing for improvement despite his impressive performances since the new Manchester United manager’s arrival. The England international scored a goal in Amorim’s first game in charge against Ipswich Town last weekend, before netting a brace in United’s dominant 4-0 win over Everton on Sunday.
However, Amorim has made it clear that Rashford, along with the rest of the squad, still has room for development. After the victory against Everton, the new manager insisted that Rashford must keep striving to improve his game.
“There is so much to improve,” Amorim said when asked about Rashford’s recent form. “He can do so much better. We all have to improve, but it was a great job from the players. He has to continue to improve, and he has the ability to do it. He already proved that, but he can play so much better, like the other guys. It was a good performance, but tomorrow he has to recover and start thinking about the Arsenal game.”
Rashford, for his part, also spoke about the positive influence Amorim is having on the team, emphasizing the need to keep building on their progress.
“It is a nice result,” Rashford told Sky Sports after his brace against Everton. “It is important with a new coach and a new way of playing, when we are still learning. We have to back up this performance and win in midweek. We all, as individuals, want to get back to our best and then push to improve so even in the bad moments you are doing the right thing.”
Rashford also highlighted the growing connection between the players and Amorim, noting the manager’s positive attitude has energized the squad. “He’s come in with a great attitude, and it’s passed onto the players. The atmosphere is one of the most special things about this club, and playing at this great stadium is always a great feeling.”
Despite their strong start, Rashford remains focused on continuing to improve as a team. “It’s early on, but I feel energised and ready for the next game. This game has only just finished, but the next one is always the focus for the players.”
Manchester United will now look to build on their recent form as they prepare for their upcoming match against Arsenal, with Amorim’s leadership continuing to shape the squad’s development.
